Albion HotelAdelaide security specialist Vision Security Services has launched a new Mobotix internet-enabled camera that eliminates blind spots from room surveillance.

The new MOBOTIX Q24M Hemispheric camera provides a high-resolution 180-degree panoramic image that records from wall to wall without blind spots. This delivers a significantly better room overview than a surveillance system with several individual cameras. One MOBOTIX camera with 3.1 megapixels records around 30 times more detail than a stan¬dard analogue camera.

The Q24M also acts as a remote camera with access via the Internet.  With MOBOTIX, a PC is not used to record, but only to view and research images in case of an event.  These images can be viewed from any location on earth with a network connection.

An optional PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) unit allows the recording of a 360-degree image creating a discreet system with 3.1 Megapixel detailed video surveillance. The camera also uses an integrated MicroSD card to replace external storage devices, thereby providing up to 80 hours continuous on-board recording with audio.

Vision Security Services managing director John Convill said the MOBOTIX Q24M Hemispheric camera was the most user-friendly, efficient and cost-effective system available for room surveillance. “It records both audio and video, without any blind spots,” he said.

“With several individual cameras in use, the objects to be monitored change all the time from one recording area of a camera to the next or even duplicate when areas observed by the cameras are overlapped. This is not the case  with the Q24M.  Additionally, with the same amount of lines, the widescreen panoramic image provides twice the resolution as a standard video image.”

German company MOBOTIX AG has developed high-resolution, network-based video systems since 1999. During the past two years, the company has pioneered its hemispheric technology, bringing video technology to large scale production.

The weatherproof Mobotix Q24M solution includes video management software and a four gigabyte MicroSD card.
